Cabo San Lucas Weather
Cabo San Lucas is generally known for its hot, clear weather with very little humidity. With a measly amount of average annual rainfall (ten inches per year), this arid region often has three hundred beautiful days of sun per year.
Winter
In Winter-time, temperatures average around seventy-five degrees (Fahrenheit). Gray whales can be seen off the shores of Cabo this time of year. Like many human vacationers from the north, these gigantic mammals migrate from chillier temperatures to enjoy the gloriously balmy weather around Los Cabos. Pods of these aquatic behemoths can be spotted in the Sea of Cortez. Migrating from the frigid waters off Alaska, these whales breed, spawn and nurse off the Baja Peninsula.
Spring
With daily highs usually climbing to the mid eighties (Fahrenheit), Cabo’s idyllic Spring weather attracts legions of university students during Spring Break in the months of March and April.
Summer
The daytime temperatures in the Summer reach the middle nineties (Fahrenheit). Although the months of August and September are considered the height of the off-season for tourists in Cabo San Lucas, the rising temperatures in the Sea of Cortez attract schools of feeder-fish. Larger game-fish follow this swimming buffet of feeder-fish. Striped Marlin, Wahoo, Dorado, Tuna, and Dolphin feast on this influx of smaller fish. Even though the water tends to be a little more turbulent during the Summer and Fall, Anglers cannot resist the spike in big-game-fish activity. The Cortez Sea’s water climbs to its peak temperature in the mid eighties. In the Pacific, the temperature averages about ten degrees less. The Summer is also the best season to surf, when sporadic hurricane swells, or chubascos, stir ideal southeast swells on the East Cape.
Fall
The perfect mid eighties (Fahrenheit) temperatures is ideal beach weather. Storms increase in frequency during this time of year, but Los Cabos rarely feels the brunt of hurricanes and tropical storms. Surfers flock to Cabo this time of year when the south swells crank up the East Cape and Costa Azul. Pacific surfing beaches enjoy clean swells from the west.
